3-Day, 2-Night Canoe & Camping Safaris
This is a self-guided 3-day, 2-night canoe and camping safari in the upper Noosa River and the Noosa Everglades, within the Cooloola Section of the Great Sandy National Park. We provide all camping and cooking equipment and the canoes, as well as a detailed briefing, written instructions and maps. You only need bring your own clothes and food.
Included in this tour is a free pickup and return in our courtesy bus, between your accommodation in or around Noosa and the start of the tour in Boreen Point. You will also be transferred by water taxi across Lake Cootharaba to the national park information centre at Kinaba, adjacent to the start of the upper Noosa River. Day 1
- Courtesy bus pickup from your hostel or hotel in Noosa, to Boreen Point
- Collect camp gear - leave any baggage in secure storage
- Water taxi transfers from Boreen Point to Kinaba Information Centre
- Receive detailed briefing from our guides
- Transfer to canoes - paddle to Harrys Hut
- Setup camp - you stay here for the two nights
Day 2
- Paddle upstream to camp site 3
- Walking trek through the rainforest to the Cooloola Sandpatch - 12km round trip
- Return by canoe to campsite
Day 3
- Pack up camp
- Paddle downsteam back to Kinaba
- Water taxi transfers back to Boreen Point
- Return all equipment and cleanup
- Courtesy bus back to your local accommodation
